Sewer is the first map in Mark's long journey to return to his office. It contains the Hacker's Den and parts of the city's canal system.
A canal system connected to the Pitheath Water Treatment Plant and a nearby sewer. This map has several buildings to explore with machinery to repair, articles about the history of Stalburg, and multiple paths to reach the disused factory.

Story
Past events
There used to be electric motor factory that operated near the canals, and the canal sluice gates were relativity well maintained. An unknown party received orders to sabotage the factory by opening the sewer dam, and causing industrial waste to backup and cause a foul smell in the canal and sewers, which was noticed by the nearby tenements and media. A year later, Greenwar and the nearby residents began to protest the pollution, and the factory was pressured into shutting down operations, but the smell remained, and protests continued. Some time after the factory's shutdown, more squatters took over a room in the abandoned factory, and began to grow green mushrooms there, even setting up a small lab to research how to preserve mushrooms through the cold winter months.

Recently, a group of vigilante hackers holed up in a building at one end of the canals had infiltrated NCG servers. The attack revealed sensitive documents about S.N.W and construction plans for a bunker. This information was so shocking, the hackers' leader became increasingly paranoid, going as far as to install alarms, sensors, and poison systems to defend against intruders, much to the confusion of his partners.

INFRA
Decades before Infra, there was an electric motor factory in the area, as well as functional canal sluice gates. In 1983, a strange smell began to emerge from the canals, and the canal operators noticed in their yearly inspections. This smell was caused by a backup in industrial waste caused by an unknown party closing off waste flow from the electric motor factory. A year later, an unnamed group began to protest this perceived pollution caused by the factory, and the factory was pressured into shutting down operations. The sewage dam was re-opened, but the smell remained. Years later, enterprising mushroom farmers took over the abandoned factory and began to grow green mushrooms there, even developing ways to preserve mushrooms through the tough Stalburg winters. Shortly before the events of Infra, Greenwar began a protest at the canal against the smell it emitted, and the pollution running through it. Meanwhile, a recent group of hackers holed up in an abandoned building at the end of the canals had infiltrated the computer systems of NCG. This hacking of their servers revealed telling information and plans about a very old SNW group. This information was so sensitive that it caught the eye of the government, and the hackers' leader became increasingly paranoid, going as far as to install poison systems to defend the den against the government and other parties. During the events of Infra, Mark enters the hacker's den, disables their security systems, and accidentally falls into the sewers below.
Mark attempts to pass through the canal system to get to the metro system, but access to the canal is blocked by a trap left in the Hacker's Den. Mark gets past their security systems, a tunnel that experienced a gas explosion, and repairs a forklift to get through the disused factory. Mark finds a metro-access tunnel, but is blocked by another locked door. His attempt to backtrack is interrupted when a floor panel collapses, dropping him into the sewer. Mark proceeds to look for an exit.

Hacker's Den
Hacker's Den
The hacker's den is a small building used by squatters as their base of operations. Their activities were referenced by the mushroom farmer in Furnace, and they seem to represent "interne.ts." Their building has a built in security defense, one that developed over time from remote locking doors to poison systems. This security was implemented by an increasingly paranoid lead-hacker who was researching "S.N.W."

Their activities were referenced by another squatter in the Stalburg Steel Factory and they seem to support or represent "Interne.ts.", one of Stalburg's political parties. Their building is wired with an alarm system locking many of the doors, with the leader's room being bricked off by one of his partners. The leader's room can be accessed through an obscure route outside the compound, which contains a USB drive that can be collected for corruption evidence.

Pitheath Sludge Canal
This section of the Pitheath Canals controlled a few sluice gates to control the flow of the canal water into runoff ditches and tunnels. It is currently heavily polluted, populated by dead fish, and backed up. Near the end of this section of canals is a biker bar, home to the Devil's Angels biker gang.

It's clogged up with waste and so polluted, dead fish can be seen floating on the surface. Near the end of this section of the canal is an inaccessible biker bar, home to the Devil's Angels biker gang. The canal has multiple surrounding buildings that have been left in poor condition. One building houses an electrical substation, with one of the three transformers inside on the brink of setting ablaze, and another building which houses an inactive pump, which allows sewage to accumulate in the sewers below.

Mushroom Co.
A former electric motor manufacturer building taken over by squatters using it for mushroom growing and research. The factory was originally closed due environmental concerns, which Mark learns was intentional sabotage by Hartman, whose henchmen opened sewage sluice near factory letting wastes to pour into drainage canal, thus sparking protests. The original electric motor company was owned by Walter and it is suspected that it was used to manufacture motors and centrifuges for uranium enrichment purposes for Bunker.

Story[edit | edit source]

Past events[edit | edit source]

INFRA[edit | edit source]

Mark attempts to pass through the canal system to get to the metro system, but access to the canal is blocked by a trap left in the Hacker's Den. Mark gets past their security systems, a tunnel that experienced a gas explosion, and repairs a forklift to get through the disused factory. Mark finds a metro-access tunnel, but is blocked by another locked door. His attempt to backtrack is interrupted when a floor panel collapses, dropping him into the sewer. Mark proceeds to look for an exit.

Locations[edit | edit source]

Hacker's Den[edit | edit source]

The Hacker's Den is a small building used by squatting hackers as their base of operations.

Pitheath Sludge Canal[edit | edit source]

This section of the Pitheath Canal controlled a few sluice gates to control the flow of the canal water into runoff ditches and tunnels.

Mushroom Co.[edit | edit source]

A former electric motor manufacturer building taken over by squatters using it for mushroom growing and research. The factory was originally closed due environmental concerns, which Mark learns was intentional sabotage by Hartman, whose henchmen opened sewage sluice near factory letting wastes to pour into drainage canal, thus sparking protests. The original electric motor company was owned by Walter and it is suspected that it was used to manufacture motors and centrifuges for uranium enrichment purposes for Bunker.

Mark can access the Mushroom Co. laboratory by finding a key from an open manhole in the courtyard with green mushrooms growing inside.
